Sara is head of the Competence Center Smart Citizen at the Business Engineering Institute St. Gallen. As a PhD in computer science from the University of Fribourg, she is particularly interested in the replication of human thought processes by machines (Cognitive Computing, Fuzzy Logic) and their use to improve human coexistence with the involvement of end users (Smart and Cognitive Cities, Design Thinking). She studied business administration with a focus on computer science at the universities of Fribourg and Bern. Her last position was that of Innovation Manager for the Swiss Post.
